Band of the Scots Greys, Service Dress
privately commissioned set circa 1940/41, 12 pieces in a Gamages box, with original Scots Greys Officer’s & Trooper’s "Waterloo Eagle" Cap/Collar Badges; Very good, box very good, neatly repaired. This lot was acquired via a well known English auction house, where they were described as Britains "Specials", in many cases supplied through Gamages. There is no compelling evidence that Gamages ever produced such special orders. There is no doubt that they are one off special commissions, but the identity of the maker/ painter remains unconfirmed.
