Britains Duke of Cornwall's Lt Infantry
Band, No. 1 Dress, special commission by the Ministry of Defence (MOD) for display in the regiment’s recruiting office, 18 pieces in an original Regiments of All Nations box, labeled MOD 50/19/2; Excellent, band leaders arm broken but present, box very good. This lot was acquired via a well known English auction house, where they were described as Britains "Specials", in many cases supplied through Gamages. There is no compelling evidence that Gamages ever produced such special orders. There is no doubt that they are one off special commissions, but the identity of the maker/ painter remains unconfirmed.
