This RARE piece of history comes from the family of the original owner. The set is comprised of 51 mounted figures, 30 foot figures, (2) 6-horse gun teams and a 4-horse machine gun cart. The mounted figures include the Kaiser, Kaiserin, General Staff, Garde Cuirassier Regiment, Leib-Garde Hussar Regiment, Guard du Corps, Lancers, Ulans and outriders. The foot figures include the Garde Regiment Potsdam and the Garde Jager Battalion. All figures and horse-drawn vehicles display well in the large wood box measuring 32.5" X 21" X 4". Contains 90-plus pieces. Condition: overall good to very good. Figures have play wear with bent rifles, pennants and flags, and areas of play worn paint. The box is in fair condition with a strong black label listing the set description. The wood grooves that support the sliding lid are worn, tattered and separating in a few areas. The paper lining the box is torn and missing in places. The box exterior is worn but structurally sound. The set has been tied into place using contemporary materials to enhance the display and protect the contents. |
