Britains Band of the 17th/21st Lancers
special commission by the Ministry of Defence (MOD) for display in the regiment’s recruiting office, 10 pieces, in an original Regiments of All Nations box, labeled MOD 59/1096/1; Excellent, box very good. This lot was acquired via a well known English auction house, where they were described as Britains "Specials", in many cases supplied through Gamages. There is no compelling evidence that Gamages ever produced such special orders. There is no doubt that they are one off special commissions, but the identity of the maker/ painter remains unconfirmed.
