Gamages, Household Cavalry, 1837
early 1950s Issue, Life Guards and Horse Guards in Winter Cloaks and 1837 Pattern Household Cavalry Helmets, in original box, 8 pieces; Very good, box good. This lot was acquired via a well known English auction house, where they were described as Britains "Specials", in many cases supplied through Gamages. There is no compelling evidence that Gamages ever produced such special orders. There is no doubt that they are one off special commissions, but the identity of the maker/ painter remains unconfirmed.
