Gamages, U.S. Cavalry, Philippine Scouts
privately commissioned set to commemorate the last U.S. cavalry charge, 26th Phillipine Scouts, Bataan, 16th January 1942, with original Cap Badge & WW2 Bronze Star; Very good, box very good. 8 Pieces. This lot was acquired via a well known English auction house, where they were described as Britains "Specials", in many cases supplied through Gamages. There is no compelling evidence that Gamages ever produced such special orders. There is no doubt that they are one off special commissions, but the identity of the maker/ painter remains unconfirmed.
