Gamages, Scots Greys in Service Dress
circa 1940, in winter cloaks with bearskin caps, 5 pieces, plus an Officer’s Collar Badge of the Scots Greys; Excellent, box very good. This lot was acquired via a well known English auction house, where they were described as Britains "Specials", in many cases supplied through Gamages. There is no compelling evidence that Gamages ever produced such special orders. There is no doubt that they are one off special commissions, but the identity of the maker/ painter remains unconfirmed.
