Gamages, Britains 5th Dragoon Guards
Service Parade Dress, privately commissioned set circa 1940/41, including colour bearer with Original Cap/Collar Badges for the Fifth Dragoon Guards & Royal Armoured Corps; Very good, box very good. This lot was acquired via a well known English auction house, where they were described as Britains "Specials", in many cases supplied through Gamages. There is no compelling evidence that Gamages ever produced such special orders. There is no doubt that they are one off special commissions, but the identity of the maker/ painter remains unconfirmed.
