Ericksson/S.A.E. Builders of a Nation
EXTREMELY RARE Full Set "Builders of A Nation" (South Africa) Caltex Modern Politician figures. (Caltex petrol stations) metal figures were sold at 25 cents each in a promotion circa 1966. A plastic display stand could be bought through the mail. The figures and paper inserts were found in individual boxes, teaching the history of the nation from 1497 to 1850. All but one of these figures were created by sculptor I.Mitford Barberton. Ten figures, 9 of which have original boxes and leaflets; plus a plastic display stand. The figure without a box is Simon Van Der SteiL. The 9 original characters in original box with leaflet are as follows: Jacob Abraham De Mist, Thomas Pringle, Sir Benjamin D Urban, Piet Retief, Vasco Da Gama, Lady Anne Barnard, Mark De La Quellerie, Bartholomew Diaz and Jan Van Riebeeck. Condition good. ten pieces plus display stand.
